2019 Word of the Year

This year I'm starting something new. I'm starting a Word of the Year, which is one word that you focus on for the year. It's kinda like a new year's resolution but instead of focusing on different resolutions, you focus on a single word and try to live the year based on it.

My word for 2019 is... Drumroll, please...

I'm not a messy or un-organized person, but I chose organized because there are certain areas and aspects of my life where I'd like to be organized for once in my life. 2019, I want to focus on being more organized whether it's with school and with my career or simply having my less mess. I found that I thrive best when I think clearly. This means that when I'm sitting at my desk, I get more done when it's all nice and tidy rather than looking messy.

Being organized can also simply meaning getting rid of access "junk" and things you don't need. In order to try and live a more organized life, I cleaned my room like it was no joke. I moved around my furniture and even went as far as to dust my baseboards which tbh only occurs a few days out of the year! I also deep cleaned my closet and donated 5 bags to GoodWill. I'm starting 2019 on track, by getting rid of things I don't need.

I often hear the phrase "New Year, New Me" and yeah resolutions work, but I only last about 2 weeks tops before I completely forget about my new year's goals and resolutions. Instead of focusing on things that I need to improve, I'm focusing on different aspects of my life and really digging into what needs to be organized and how I can improve my overall life. Of course, I'll continue to have smaller goals, but I'm really trying to be more organized in 2019.

Do you choose to follow a word of the year, or just new year resolutions and goals? Let's chat down in the comments!
