Dear 2018,

Wednesday, January 3, 2018

Happy New Year y'all! If you hadn't noticed I took a few days off to spend the new year with my family and I really enjoyed it! I spent NYE with my family and cousins, playing games and snacking on chips and queso!

Since this is the first post of 2018, I thought it would be fitting to share a few goals that I want to achieve in the new year.

1. GET MY LICENSE  - I'm always embarrassed when I tell people that I don't drive. I have my learners permit and I know how to, but I get so anxious and nervous when I get behind the wheel and it freaks me out. In 2018 I am going to get my drivers license despite my 'phobia'.

2. MAKE DEAN'S LIST - Spring  2017, I made dean's list and unfortunately I was just 2 points shy of making the list for fall 2017, so my school goal is to make deans list again this year!

3. BE OUTGOING - If you really know me, you know that I'd rather stay at home and just watch Netflix with my sisters. Well in 2018 I want to go out more, be open to going to new places!

4. OPEN TO RELATIONSHIPS - this goes hand in hand with being outgoing, this year I really want to make the most of my relationships. I also want to be open to new relationships and welcome new friends that are put in my path.

5. ATTEND BLOGGER EVENTS - This one is really specific to the Houston blogger circle and this year I want to attend as many blogger events as I can! I'd love to meet the women behind blogs that I follow!

6. TRAVEL -  I feel like I say this every year, but I'd love to travel within Texas and of course, the rest of the U.S. One place I would love to get to this year is New York.

7. BE HAPPY - Getting on a personal note, 2017 was a mix of emotions for me.  I experienced wild ups and downs and for a moment it was scary. I would be fine one moment and the next was the total opposite. In 2018 I want to do more things that make me happy and focus on my happiness rather than things that may upset me.

8. BE PROUD - You may have noticed in the past few weeks I've been asking of Instagram polls whether or not bloggers had two separate Instagrams (one blog, one personal). For the past year, my sisters knew about my blog and no one else. I love my blog and am proud of everything blog-wise, but at the same time, I didn't want anyone to know because I didn't want people to think that it was weird or silly that I had a blog. Well, not anymore 🙅 this year I want to be open and proud of what I've accomplished!

I cannot thank you enough for the past year and I cannot wait to see what's in store for The Lonestar Darling in 2018!
