Summer 2017 Bucketlist Update

Remember my Summer 2017 bucket list I shared a few months back?!? Well today I'm sharing my updated list of things that I've successfully checked off.

The first item that I checked off was an Attempt to do DIY Projects. I haven't done as many projects as I had wanted to but summer's not over yet!  One project that I did do was upcycle a wooden chair that I found at a thrift shop. I wish I had taken before photos but I didn't, and trust me when I say that it was a work in project. The chair itself has a cute shape but it was glossy and very much wooden. With a coat of spray paint and some love it looks great!

Another item on my bucket list was to find a wildflower field and boy did I find one. On a one day roadtrip that me and my family had taken, we spotted tons of fields but they were never in a good place to actually stop the car and take a few pictures. Most of them were in people's yards or near the highway. Well we found one just off a county road which was pretty much bare, a few cars passes us here and there, so we stopped and took a few photos.

Lastly, for the first time in foreverrrr I finally attended a baseball game! It was so much fun and I can't wait until I can go to another game. My hometown team, the Astros, played againt the Minnesota twins and we won 10-5. It was such a good game!! Also every Friday after the game tons of fireworks go off and it was so cool to see the show.

I hope this has been a small preview of what my summer has been like so far! It's not over yet so who knows what and If I'll complete my Summer Bucket List!

Weekly Rundown No. 12

Isn't it crazy that August is right around the corner. In fact once this post goes live there's only three days left of July! I love summer activities - going to the beach, baseball games etc. but I very much dislike the heat. I also cannot wait for fall and to start school later in August. There's something about going back to school and that school mindset that gets me excited every year. Well, here is the last Weekly Rundown from July!

WORE: I'm telling y'all I found the PERFECT denim shorts! Not too short, the perfect wash and of course at a great price! I've worn them in this photo and Love them.

Shop them below:

LISTENED:  I have been loving Lana Del Rey's new album 'Lust for Life' . I've been a fan of hers for a while now, I even remember listening to 'Born to Die' right before she blew up. Every song on her new album is so good and there's  bunch of great collabs like 'Summer Bummer' with A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, Stevie Nicks and Sean Ono Lennon. I would definitely give it a listen if I was you:

SAW:  Since last week my cable provider gave us free HBO movie channels for a few days and it was nice just to relax and watch a couple of movies. During this free movie channels period I saw Suicide Squad and Hacksaw Ridge quite a few times. I've mentioned on another Weekly Rundown how I had seen Hacksaw Ridge and I loved it. You can read all about it here!

POSTED: I went ahead and shared my July Playlist. Like I mentioned Lana earlier this playlist features some of her new album and  a few other songs that have been either stuck in my head or on repeat. You can read that post here.

LOVED:  Up until recently I was never a 'Oh let's go to the beach!' kinda gal (hope that makes sense). I never really owned a swimsuit I felt comfortable in and in general I just never went to the beach or the pool. But since last summer I've loved going to the pool and beach. It's crazy to think that I used to hate going. This summer alone I've gone to the pool so much and I love that I'm going and have fun, most importantly feel comfortable in a swimsuit. Here's a few snaps from my time at the beach a couple of days ago:

July Playlist

Another month has come and gone and Summer is slowly coming to an end. Soon enough school will be back in session - please let's not talk about it-  and life will be hectic once more. But of course I couldn't end July without my playlist. This one has a bunch of new songs and I couldn't be more happy for new music from my favorite musicians and singers.

One song that I've been obsessing over is 'Wild Thoughts' by DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. It's such a fun song and I love the beat. I also freaked out when I listened to Lana Del Rey's new album, as always it's amazing! 'Bad Liar' by Selena Gomez has been stuck in my head like crazy. It's also a fun song and it very catchy.

What has been on your July Playlist?

Weekly Rundown No. 11

What's up ya'll!? It's been a hot minute  while since my last weekly rundown *yikes* After a week off from the blog and work it's been nice to relax and not worrying about posting anything. During my time off I also spent my free time with my sisters which is always a good thing! Well happy Fri-yay and welcome to another Weekly Rundown!

WORE: When it comes to jewelry I tend to stick with my everyday pieces - dainty pave necklace, pearls, and my James Avery rings- but lately I've been branching out for some colorful and fun jewels. I've been obsessed with this chuky turqoiuse necklace! It adds the perfect about of color without being overwhelming and it's so easy to style. I usually just wear a plain colored tee with short or jeans , but I also love pairing this necklace with a white and grey striped tank. So cute!

SAW: At the moment I'm currently watching The Mindy Project on HULU and I'm sooo hooked. These quirky, fun shows are my all time favorites (The Office, Parks & Recs, etc.) Speaking of HULU I ended up getting a 45 day free trial and I am using it to the max!!! So far I've also seen Nerve and I have The Handmaid's Tale on my watchlist.

POSTED: In honor of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale going public today I shared my wishlist earlier this week. I also did a little Instagram Roundup, you can find both posts here and here.

LOVED:  Lately I've been trying to shop local and with small, independent owned boutiques and shops. Whether I find a particular brand on Instagram or a cute boutique outside the city. A few weeks I found this online boutique called Rebel Chic and they have some cutest stuff! Some other local brands and boutiques I've been loving are : Designs by ReiMagnolia Mey , Pretty Little Things , Court Perk Designs and there's so much more!

Instagram Roundup

I think it's pretty safe to say that I'm obsessed with instagram. I'm definitely one of those people who can keep scroll through their feed, get out of the app and go back in within a couple of minutes.  At the moment I don't really have a cohesive theme, I pretty much play around with the filters on VSCO cam.  Today I'll be sharing a quick and fun Instagram Roundup.

YUM! My family was given free tickets to a baseball game last week and it was sooo much fun! We had great seats and had a blast. We also had free food tickets and since we ate before the game I ended up getting this amazing cookie sundae!

My little sisters birthday was on July 10th and she wanted a pool party. All of her school friends and our family got together and had such a fun day at the pool.

Happy 4th Everyone! Since I worked in the morning I came home to a great assortment of food! After relaxing for a bit me and my sisters took some photos  and just chilled and played with our pups.

I had posted this on July 3rd while I was trying to put together an outfit for the 4th. I love wearing  red, white and blue, it's definitely one of my favorite color combos!

A few weeks ago I ran into Walmart for a few things and as I walked by the clothes I saw this white and red striped dress with little pom poms on it. At first I was hesitant on buying it becuase I didn't need a new dress but it was on clearance so why not but it? So i bought it and y'all it's HUGE! I had already taken the tags off and took a few photos in it. Here was one of those photos.

Why not post a picture of watermelon?! This one is particular was so sweet and juicy which is perfect for a hot Texas day!

I hope you enjoyed this roundup!

My Nordstrom Wishlist

It feels like every blogger I follow has already shown what they bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale- which is by far the BIGGEST sale of the summer. If you are a Nordstrom card holder what are you doing here?!? Go Shop!! But if you're like me- a non card holder - we can shop this Friday July 21st. This sale is the perfect time to get ahead of your back-to-school and fall shopping done. I am loving a bunch of the sale items but here are a few that are currently in my wishlist:

Have you shopped the sale yet?

Fourth of July 2017

Hey y'all, so this post is incredibly late but with work and trying to have a somewhat social life, I haven't had time to sit down and share my outfit and a little recap from this past weekend.

I ended up working a quick 5 hr shift on Tuesday morning and then once I left the  the real party began! At home my dad was grilling some delicious ribs, sausage and of course the all American hotdogs and hamburgers. It was nice to come home to a delicious aromas from all the food cooking outside! Once it got dark outside we headed to the firework show. Every year we go and try to find a new spot to watch the show. Last year we found a spot months before July and it was a great view. It was a grassy meadow behind some newly re-done warehouses turned business. Unfortunately that perfect spot was taken away and new town homes lay there. This year we watched the show from the same area but the view wasn't as nearly as great as it was last year.

None the less me and my family still had fun watching the show and singing Katy Perry's 'Firework'! Can't wait until July 4th 2018!!
