Weekly Rundown No.5

Happy Fri-yay y'all! This week was pretty special being that near the end of the week I'd be turning 21! I was super spoiled and felt the love from my family. Today also happens to be my favorite made up holiday, National Stripes day! Earlier this week I shared a few items that I loved, you can check it out here!

Welcome to another Weekly Rundown!

WORE: Okay Y'all, so this outfit post has to be one of my favorites like ever! I've been so obsessed with cute boho tops and this one is perfect. Sadly I purchased it at Marshall's and couldn't find the exact style online 😞but usually Forever 21 has some cute ones with a similar style.

LISTENED: I'm a huge lover of soft, chill music. I could be in the best happy mood and I'm listening to "sad, depressing music" according to my friends. I just love slow, soft, almost like coffee shop music. I hope y'all understand what I'm trying to say. Anyways here is one of my favorite playlists on spotify!

SAW: Last week I mentioned how I still haven't seen Beauty and the Beast, well that all changed last Saturday. I finally saw it and was grinning ear to ear during the entire movie duration. I absolutely loved it and I'm dying to see it again. Everything was so beautiful to the set , the actors, and of course the soundtrack. The cutest part was when I was walking out of the theater I saw a little girl (about 4/5 ish) with her mom and she was dressed up in the cutest Belle costume!

POSTED: So remember the book 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie'? Well, if you give this girl some BBQ, she'll want some ice cream afterwards-really. It's a small tradition my family has, that after we finish eating we'll grab a cone or cup of Blue Belle Ice Cream. And the silly part is that we'll only do this while we're in Lockhart. Strawberry Ice cream= THE BEST!

LOVED: Last week my and my family took a little road trip to our favorite place, Lockhart, TX. The drive is so short (2hrs) and we love going up there and visiting the best BBQ spot. We also did a little detour and decided to drive through a bunch of tiny little towns like Schulenburg, Gonzalez, and Shiner. It was so much fun y'all, just driving through Texas hill country.

Fun & Flowy

Hey y'all! When it comes to picking out my outfits for the week and even out shopping, I find myself gravitating for more floral and flowy tops like this one. I've also been obsessed with these wedges from Gap. If you follow me on Instagram, you would've seen my unboxing these beauties and I also did a whole post on the Chloe Espadrille dupes like Marc Fisher and other brands. You can check out that post here.
Enjoy!

Weekly Rundown No.4

Hey y'all! Welcome to another Weekly Rundown! I love doing these types of post and keeping y'all in the loop of what I've been loving this week. I cannot wait for this weekend and guess what? Next week is BIRTH WEEK!!! YAY!! Guys I'll be 21 which is crazy, I'm sure I'll do a separate post on that later this week.
Enjoy!
WORE: Y'all, off  the shoulder tops are my faves right now! I only own one but every time I see another one I immediately want to add it to my virtual cart and my closet. They are just so darn cute and can be dressed up or down. I bought this one specifically for the Houston Rodeo and I loved how this outfit turned out!

LISTENED: To be completely honest I'm sure y'all are tired of me talking about the Chainsmokers and Sam Hunt concert I went to last week. Y'all it was so much fun and ever since then I've been listening to both of those artists non stop. 'KANYE' by The Chainsmokers is my new jam, I seriously listen to it probably about 5 or more times during a single day. I also posted my March Playlist earlier this week, you can check it out here!

SAW: I have yet to see Beauty and The Beast 😕, but this past weekend I did manage to see Hacksaw Ridge which was soooo good. I don't want to give any spoilers away so if your interested here is the trailer below! I definitely recommend watching it, heck I even watched it twice over the weekend!

POSTED: I like to think that I'm known for wearing super basic pieces but adding my own twist to it. For example I shared this picture on Instagram and y'all this is my 'uniform', I kid you not I wear this tee at least 2 times a week and I own it in a ton of colors. You can probably find me in a plain tee and jeans but to add my own style to it, I like to either add a fun necklace like I did here, or some other cute accessories!

LOVED: This week I definetly got some much needed catching up with my youtube subscriptions and I've been loving The Sacconejolys. I used to watch them everyday back in 2013/14 and I loved catching up with this weeks videos. Anna and Jonathan have a super adorable family and are awaiting the arrival of their sweet baby girl anytime! If you love sweet family daily vlogs there is no doubt that you'll love The Sacconejolys! That's it for this week folks! Check back on Monday for one of my favorite outfits that I've posted here on the blog!
Happy Friday Y'all

March Playlist

These concerts were held back to back - one on Sunday they 12th, and the other on Monday the 13th. In this post I'll be sharing a few pictures from the Sam Hunt show on Monday!

Enjoy!

Let's Rodeo Pt. 1

Hey y'all! It's finally Spring Break and I already had one of the most memorable days yet. Every year in March The Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show (HLSR in short) comes back and I and basically everyone else in this city goes crazy. Every year the concert lineup gets better and better, I swear! This year I wanted to see so many artists, but decided that I shouldn't see a show almost everyday, hehe. I did however, manage to get tickets to The Chainsmokers and Sam Hunt.

So, the HLSR is held every March during the 7th through the 26th. And there is soo much to do while you're there. You can catch the livestock & horse show, head to the carnival and eat crazy food (aka fried ice cream and nutella), see the rodeo, and probably my favorite attraction besides the actual rodeo, SHOP! There is soo many vendors and honestly It can be very dangerous for a gal who loves to shop.
Let's talk about the concert itself. Like I mentioned earlier, the lineup this was ah-maz-ing! Here is this years lineup:

I had originally wanted to go on the 10th, went on the 12th, going on the 13th, wanted to go on the 15th & 16th,  and lastly the 20th. I know, so many concerts, so little time!

Weekly Rundown No.3

Hey y'all! Can you believe that it's Friday already?!?! I'm done with classes, so let's SPRING BREAK begin!
Welcome to another Weekly Rundown!

WORE: Y'all I'm totally obsessed with these little neck scarves! I picked one up at Old Navy this past weekend and I loved how it looked. Hopefully I'll be able to take some outfit pictures for the blog soon!

LISTENED: March has been a month of nonstop country and pop for me. The Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show (be on the lookout for a later post!) started this week and I'm so excited! I'll be seeing The Chainsmokers and Sam Hunt this weekend eeek I cannot wait to hear 'Paris' live! Here a playlist that I've been listening to!

SAW: So you know how everyone went crazy for the Fuller House series on Netflix? Well I do, my sisters went ballistic and binged it all in a couple of days. I loved Full House growing up, I used to watch it before bed! This week I started watching Fuller House on Netflix and I'm very pleased with it.I love watching 30 minute shows while I'm having lunch by myself or need a little break in between studying.

POSTED: Recently I've been obsessed with tumblr...again. For a few months I kinda forgot about it and how addicting it is. I'd love to follow some of y'all! Just leave your handle in the comments!
VIA
LOVED: Marc Fisher dupes for a fraction of the price! Last spring/summer everyone had these wedges and as much as I love them, I wasn't about to spend that much money on a pair of shoes especially since I don't wear wedges or heels that often. I did however, purchase these cuties  and they're supposed to arrive today! So be on a lookout for an unboxing over on my Instagram (@thelonestarprep) stories!

Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?!? Let me known down in the comments!

Look For Less: Chloe Wedges

Last spring and summer everyone went crazy for these Chloe wedges. I swear almost every fashion blogger I follow and read had them or the exact dupes from Marc Fisher.

Well lately I've been loving this style of espadrille wedges and I knew that I wanted to get my hands on a pair. $160 is a pretty reasonable price compared to the $625 Chloe pair. However, being a college gal I had knew that spending that much on a pair of shoes was crazy, my family even told me that It was crazy for me to spend that much money even though its a fraction of the cost of the Chloes!

I then decided to hunt down the best dupes for the dupes at a reasonable price.  Compared to the Marc Fisher pair, the next almost exact dupe would be the Steve Madden pair for just $60 you really get a good looking shoe! My favorite of this bunch would probably be the Matisse pair! I've been eyeing these for a couple of weeks. Just look at them! Aren't they cute, especially with the pink and brown!

I ended up purchasing the Gap pair not only because I managed to get them for $46, but I like how they aren't super tall which is great because as much as I love the height of the Marc Fisher pair I know that I wouldn't be able to wear them as much and I'd probably end up on the ground while wearing them!
